A doula is a trained support person who provides emotional, physical, and educational support during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
Doulas are not medical providers. We don’t perform clinical tasks, diagnose, give medical advice, or replace your midwife or OB. Instead, we work alongside your medical team to help you feel more informed, supported, and confident.
Be Well is based in Pearl, Mississippi and serves families in Pearl, the Jackson metro area, and nearby communities.
If you’re not sure whether you’re in my service area, please reach out and ask.
Most families book doula support sometime in the second trimester, but you can reach out at any point in pregnancy as long as I have availability.
Booking earlier gives us more time for prenatal visits, birth planning, and relationship‑building before your due window.
Each package is slightly different, but all Be Well doula options center on:
Prenatal support to answer questions and prepare for birth
Help creating or refining your birth plan
On‑call availability around your due window
Continuous labor support for your birth package
At least one postpartum visit to check in and process your experience
You can choose from three levels, Essential, Standard, and Comprehensive, depending on how much support feels right for your family.
Yes. If you’re not ready for full doula support (or already have support in place), you can book a stand‑alone birth planning session.
We’ll walk through your preferences, talk about common hospital routines and options, and create a clear written plan you can share with your provider and birth team.
A birth planning session is a focused 60–90 minutes where we:
Explore your hopes, values, and any fears or questions you have
Review typical procedures and options in your birth setting
Talk through “what if” scenarios so you’re not caught off guard
Draft a birth plan that’s practical, easy to read, and true to you
You’ll leave with a written plan and a better sense of what to expect and how to advocate for yourself.
Yes. Certain services like birth planning sessions, some prenatal visits, and postpartum check‑ins can be done virtually, which is helpful if you live outside Pearl/Jackson or prefer to meet online.
We can talk through what’s possible for you in your specific situation.
Placenta encapsulation is the process of preparing your placenta after birth, drying it, and placing it into capsules for your personal use in the postpartum period.
Some parents choose this as a meaningful way to honor the placenta and as part of their postpartum plan, even though scientific research on benefits is limited and results vary from person to person.
Research on placenta encapsulation is limited, and there is no clear scientific evidence supporting specific health benefits; there are also documented risks if a placenta is not handled and processed properly.
Because of this, it’s important to follow safe‑handling guidelines and to talk with your medical provider before deciding whether this option is right for you.
Important note: Placenta encapsulation is not a medical treatment and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. It does not replace medical care, and any concerns about your health or your baby’s health should be discussed with a licensed provider.
The Be Well placenta encapsulation package includes:
Coordination and clear instructions for placenta pickup or drop‑off
Careful preparation and encapsulation of your placenta into capsules
Capsules packaged in a labeled container with storage instructions
You can also choose optional keepsakes such as a placenta print and umbilical cord keepsake.
All services are paid out of pocket, but some families use health savings accounts (HSAs) or flexible spending accounts (FSAs) to help with costs.
I’m happy to discuss and arrange payment plans or splitting your payments into a few installments. Just mention this when you inquire.
Think about how much support you want:
If you mainly want a clear plan and some guidance, the Essential or Birth Planning options may be enough.
If you want a familiar face with you throughout labor, the Standard and Comprehensive package is usually the best fit.
You’re always welcome to book a free 15‑minute call, and we can talk through what you need, your due date, and which option makes the most sense for this season.
